Deborah Manners - Author, Speaker and Food Intolerant Consumer

deborah manners public speaker on food intolerance

Deborah Manners B.Sc. (Hons) Dip.Ed
Deborah Manners has been a writer, producer and presenter since 1985. Now as online publisher for foodintol.com she combines years of experience in delivering concise messages in different media with extensive knowledge of food intolerance.

Ms Manners is a leading authority on food intolerance as a consumer issue. As well as public speaking she has authored and developed a number of manuals and journals which are known as practical and invaluable guidebooks for food intolerant consumers.

Until 1994 Deborah suffered for decades with food intolerance and many inadequate diagnoses. Now recovered, healthy and slimmer - she knows what she is talking about.

With qualifications in science and education: B.Sc.(Hons) and Dip.Ed., Monash University and State College of Victoria Ms Manners is well qualified to educate and inform the public about food intolerance.

She taught mathematics, chemistry and physics for ten years then spent thirteen years in television producing corporate training and development programs. Clients included Cadbury Schweppes, Baulderstone Hornibrook, Kraft Foods and Tourism Victoria. Moving into business development in the Accounting, IT and e-commerce sectors she was with global accounting firm Ernst & Young for three years in a senior business development role.

In 2002 Deborah realised there was a major gap in how food intolerance is addressed in Australia, and launched foodintol.com in July 2003 with personal funds. Within eight months the site enjoyed top internet rankings and continues today.
